DIY Coronation Bunting Instructions
Looking to add a special touch to King Charles’ Coronation? Why not try making your own bunting? It’s a fun, affordable DIY project that’s perfect to start the celebrations with.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a sewing machine – our method can be easily done by hand. All you need is a selection of fabrics, bias binding tape (the length will be the length of your finished bunting), thread, and a few basic tools like scissors and pins.
To get started, cut out a paper template for the flags and use it to trace and cut your fabric pieces. Then, sew the diagonal edges together to create a pocket, trim the excess fabric, and turn the flag inside out. Repeat these steps to create as many flags as you need.
Next, fold the bias binding tape over the unstitched edges of your flags and stitch through all the layers. And voila – your bunting is ready to hang!
If you’re short on time, don’t worry. You can make a quick version by simply cutting out triangular flags and finishing them with bias binding tape.
So gather your supplies and get ready to add a personalized touch to your next celebration!
